MAN LOSES HIS LIFE.

G-ISBORNE, MawQi 7

A sensational 'boating accident, which resulted in the death- of Mr Ronald Mclnnes, a married man, aged 51 years, occurred at Waikanae Beach at seven o'clock last evening. The deceased with Mr Leonard Burne, went fishing in a flatbottom- Jed boat, which drifted within one hundred yards of the beach and capsized in the breakers.

Both men started to swim ashore, but then turned back and attempted to right the boat. Failing to do so, they started again for the shore. McInnes called for assistance, and Burn e attempted to go back to him, but he was washed away by a breaker. He got near the land in an exhausted state and was pulled ashore.

Mr and Mrs Ernest Warren and Mr Ralph Morse swam through the breakers to rescue Mclnnes, and ibrought him ashore in a collapsed condition. Artificial respiration was tried for half an hour but without success.
