COMPLETE VICTORY CLAIMED.
FOR SOVIET ARMS
CAPITAL PUNISHMENT
ABOLISHED
(Received 9.20 a.m.)
MOSCOW, Jan. 20
The Soviet newspapers describes the Allies lifting the blockade as a great victory for the Soviet army. They deprecate excessive optimism, however, stating: "As our enemies may try to cheat us again, we must not lay our arms aside to rust."
The Central Soviet has decreed the abolition of capital "owing to the complete victory of the Soviet over their enemies." —A. and N.Z.
