A SUGGESTION.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I trust you can find space in your columns to publish this very noticeable want in this thriving Northern town, viz.. a town clock. Visitors from other large towns are struck by the lack of something here and I think that a town clock would modernise this otherwise strikingly busy town. Imagine any large town without a clock that chimed the hours and that town would remind you of Whangarei no matter how modern that town may otherwise be. Trusting this apparently small, though really essential need may be considered by the proper quarters of this town, where modern conveniences, etc., are in vogue, except the absent town clock.—l am. etc., NONENTITY.
