MARINE ENGINEERS' STRIKE.

RE-MANNING PROSPECTS,

SAID TO BE GOOD

SYDNEY, Jan. 16.

The engineers of the Union Co.'s Waihora, which arrived at Newcastle yesterday from Vancouver, gave notice today that they are serving now on the Australian articles.

Reports from Melbourne state that the negotiations towards a settlement of, the engineers' strike have not been broken off, as was previously reported. The parties met again to-day, and one unofficial report states thr»t there is a probability that the vessels will be manned on Monday.—A. and N.Z.
