INDIAN HOME RULE.

VIEWS OF INDIAN DELEGATE

Speaking of the public meeting in Madras last November, Mr R. G. Pradham, of Nasik, who went to England as a member of the National Homeßßu e League Deputation in connection with the Indian Reform Bill, spoke of the attitude of the Labour Party towards India and Indian questions. Mr Pradham said: —

He had studied its literature and discussed about the Labour Party and its growing influence. It was not at all odtside the bounds of possibility that in the near future that party might get into power. During the great i-ailway strike it beqame apparent that the leaders of the Labour Party had developed statesmanship and sense of responsibility which were essential for carrying on the affairs of a natipn as responsible ministers. It appeared to him that the time might come in the near future when the destinies of that great Empire would be controlled by the Labour Party. The sympathies of the Labour Party with regard to Indian refprm and Indian self-government were very keen. They had adopted Indian Home Rule as an item, in their programme. It was hoped that when that party would come into power the cause of Indian self-government would receive an impetus as it had never received before. It was essentially a d c ' m <>cratic party believing in international brotherhood, righteousness and international justice and desiring to see the spread of self-govern-ment all over the world.
