COAL FAMINE.
PALMERSTON NORTH STRAITS
DINING ROOMS MAY CLOSE
PALMERSTON N., This Day
All the local yards are quite out of coal, and the position is becoming serious. Some of the hotels and restaurants threaten to shut up their dining rooms unless supplies are obtainable. The Gasworks have just enough to keep going; but the railway yards have really a good supply, so there is no fear of the train service being curtailed. —Press Assn.
