A DEMOCRAT RALLY
(Received 1 p.m.)
NEW YORK, Jan. 8
The Democratic National Committee, which is meeting at Chicago to arrange preliminaries in connection with the Presidential nomination, denounced the arrogance of the Republicans and demanded that the Senate should cease political manoeuvring. The meeting repudiated the suggestion that the United States had joined the Allies in order to leave them in the lurch when peace and reconstruction became imperative.—A. and N.Z.
