BUCKLAND AND SONS.

Messrs Alfred Buckland and bons, Ltd., report: — At our weekly Westfield fat stock market, our supply of beef totalled GO6 head, comprising 424 steers, 1(57 cows and heifers, and .17 bulls. These numbers are only 36 less than the record entry of December 17, 1919. There was a keen demand throughout. Choice and prime ox sold at about values equal to those quoted prior to the holidays; other classes wore slightly easier. Choice ox sold at $2 15/ per 1001b, prime £2 11/ to £2 13, ordinary and plain £2 7/6 to £2 10/, rough beef £1 18/ to £2 2/; cow and heifer beef, £2 2/ to £2 10/; steers ranged in price from £8 to £23 10/. There was also an extra heavy yarding of sheep, and as in the case of beef there was a keen demand for all prime mutton. Heavy prime wethers made from £1 16/6 to £1 18/9, a pen of G extra special first prize show wethers and ewes made £2 19/; medium to heavy prime wethers, £1 14/ to £1 16/; light prime wethers, £1 10/ to £1 13/; unfinished wethers, £1 1/ to £1 9/; extra heavy prime ewes, £1 13/9 to £1 15/9; good prime ewes, £1 10/ to £1 13/6; light fat ewes, £1 4/ to £1 8/; unfinished and other ewes, 13/ to £1 2/ (3073 sold). Lambs came forward in extra large numbers and iacluded many lines of light and unfinished. Competition was brisk for all prime lambs. Plain lambs were lower. Extra heavy prime £1 9/ to £1 12/; heavy prime, £1 6/ to £1 8/6; lighter, prime, £1 3/ to £1 5/G; light, 18/ to £1 2/; unfinished and small lambs, 9/ to 15/ (1136 sold). Fat and young calves were penned in average numbers. Competition was keen and values were decidedly better than our last report of December 22. Runnera made from £5 to £7 19/; vcalers, heavy £3 7/6 to £4 15/, medium £2 10/ to £3 5/; lighter £1 10/ to £2 7/; small fat calves 16 to £1 8/, fresh-dropped 8/ to 14/ (129.501 d). There was a large yarding of pigs, which met with a keen demand, and values were much higher than last report. Store pigs also improved in prices. Choppers, to £7 14/; baconers, heavy £6 10/ to £7 5/, light to medium £5 10/ to £6 7/6; porkers, heavy £4 7/6 to £5 l 7/6, medium £3 15/ to £4 5/, light £3

to £3 12/6; well-grown stores, to£3 2/;

slips, £1 19/ to £2 14/; weaners, good to £1 13/, small 18/ to £1 10/ (301 sold).
