A. MOUNTAIN INCIDENT.
FAMISHED PARTY RESCUED.
WELLINGTON, This Day. The police last night received information- that the party which was missing on Tararua Mountain had been found by Constable Mcintosh and Mr Webster- of Greytown. Very few de- --. tails were given. Ji appears tliat the two ladies (of whom Miss Louise Mack was one) aad a gentleman were discovered at 8 a.m. yesterday at Mount Alpha. They were in a famishing condition and had spent three nights without cover. They had reached the Mount Alpha hut at ti p.m. ou Wednesday. Their conditions was so bad that they could not walk. They were brought on horses to Waiohine Gully, where the telephone was used to summon a motor ear from Greytown. The car was sent out and its return was expected in Greytown last evening.—Press Assn.
