COALITION DIFFERENCES.
(Received 9 a.m.)
LONDON, Dec. 20.
Signs of the foundering of the Lloyd George Ministry, after a stormy session, are causing many anticipations; but the House of Commons, including nearly o*e luinudred Government place men 'and numbers who do not expect re-election, is not easily dissolved.
Nevertheless, bitter differences are arising within the Coalition. The liberals refuse to have the slightest truck with Tariff, while the Unionists a n> making the Home Rule scheme most, difficult and the Extremists are crying for the sternest military repression im answer to the outrages in Ireland.
Lobbyists repeat the charge that Messrs Lloyd George and Churchill are forming a Centre Party as a reply, to Ilio Unionist Party's resolutions denouncing the Manchester speech and insisting on the independence and solidarity of the Unionists as a separate party
The failure of the anti-profiteeriag legislation has cost the Government a lot of support from the country.—A. and N.Z.
