At Steele's Stationery Shop_ in Bank street, a special effort has been made to have not only the largest but the most attractive display of Christmas Gifts for the 1919 holiday trade, and the success achieved has surpassed all previous efforts. There is a very fine collection of British and American gift articles open for inspection, imc.udjingl somei itfpst attractive leather goods—handbags, dressing cases, wallets, music cases, etc., and some pretty samples of lacquered and silk Japanese boxes, and antimony frames, vases and trinket boxes, and of fancy basketware.

Mr Steele has also specialised in Christmas cards and and has succeeded in obtaining a very fine selection indeed.

A large variety of books suitable for gifts are on the shelves t including leather-bound Bibles and Pray-er-Books, and the latest Children's Annuals and Reward volumes, which are very good this year.

Wooden and metal toys, rubber balls, and a great variety of dolls will be found reasonable in price and quite the thing for the little folk to whom a visit to the shop will prove an unquestionable pleasure.
