THE CARNIVAL,

W. Oliver, the-challenger for the featherweight championship of New Zealand, which is to bo contested in the Town Hall oa Friday evening, attended the gymnasium last night and boxed 12 rounds with some of the local men. The exhibition was most instructive and was followed with keen interest by a good muster of members. It is expected that all the team for the carnival will be present in town by Wednesday.
