TOWN HALL PICTURES.

AN ENTERPRISING VENTURE,

The equipment of the Whangarei Town Hall as a picture theatre by Mr. D. Clark is a marked step in the advancement of Whangarei. The spacious and comfortable building has been fiti ted with the very latest that can be I .supplied in the cinematograph art. The screen is known as the '' Edison-Pathe Science Screen,'' and, bordered with black, it provides an excellent eye rest which is not often connected with cinema theatres. The new biograph machine throws a splendid picture and in the hands of a capable operator gives a very liigh degree of satisfaction to the audience. Every film is steady and dearly shown and reel after reel i* turned off without a hitch. The' pull ihis theatre has got is realised when it is known that only the very best in the picture market is handled. Mr. Clark aims at reaching and establishing himself on a high standard, and with this object in view he has spared no expense to give the public satisfaction. A brand new piano has been installed and when it is said that Mr. A. Dobson will provide the music the public will under"staud that the best procurable is being offered. The picture' for this eveniag is entitled "I Want My Children," and it is one which" cannot fail to appeal warmly to all. Everything will be done to make patrons comfortable and the control will be solely in the hands of Mr. Clark, who has long since proved his capability as a manager.

"I Want My Children," to be screened at the Town Hall to-night, under the direction of Leo D. Chateau's International attractions, is a delicate question, yet strongly and fearlessly handled. But the great < and it is feared, growing number of purposely childless "society" dames goes to show that there are certain women to whom children make no appeal. To combat "race suicide," as ex-Pre-sident Theodore Roosevelt calls it, and to rouse the lap-dog nursing married women to a sens e of their duty , to humanity, is the object of the powerful photo-drama, "I Want My Children."
