A novel feature of Billie Burkes newest Paramount photo-play, '' In Pursuit, of Polly," is the wonderful and terribly exciting love chase —surely a unique novelty for the movies. Polly -Niai'sden, daughter of a millionaire cotton broker of New York, is loved by two men, one a poet and the othor a dignified broker, yhe knows not which one to choose, so suggests a motor race, she io have au hour's start, and the one who catches her first to marry her. What complications this unique method of deciding upon a husbsmo gave rise to, it would be unfair to reveal, but it is necessary to say that they combine to make a story of uausual dramatic interest. Polly meets with all sorts of adventures, and incidentally she is mistaken for the confederate of a German spy by a Secret fdeivice operative. This leads to he: arrest after a series of thrilling evouts, and when, her suitors catch up with her iinally, they learn to their disgust that her hand and heart belong to her captor, who turns out to be a millionaire, and a charming, chap at that. Of course, the disappointed poet and broker are disgruntled, but when a woman malt en up her mind, what's the use to protest.' Miss Burke is said to have one of the most delightful roles of her screen career in this picture. She is admirably supported, her leading man being Thomas Meighan. Others in hor support are Frank Losee, Alfred Hickman and William Davidson. in addition a side-splitting comedy entitled "His New Job," featuring Charlie Chaplin, and the "Eagle's Eye," episode No. 16.
