Mr McLcay, manager for Messrs Richardson and Coy., reports that the steamer Awahou took from Auckland 465 cases of and, when the last of these wa s being unloaded yes. terday, at the bottom of the hold., a paper box of wax vestas was found wedged in between two cases. Mr McLeay states that fortunately the vessel had had an exceptionally smooth passage. Had she been labouring and the cargo moving it is quite possible thr.t there might have been another Tainui disaster.—Press Assn.
