"Truth is stronger than fiction" is occasionally confirmed from occurrences brought near. Thre e Auckland "boys" were on a transport when a huge wave swept all of them out to sea. Th c remarkable fact is that a succeeding wave carried one of them back again to the steamer, but on another deck. Th c soldier was hurt but slightly, while the other two were drowned. Needless to say, the experience bordering on the miraculous, has left a most lasting impression.
