At Friday's meeting of the High School Board the chairman touched on the advisability of approaching the Government for a g-rant for extensions to the present, school building or for new buildings altogether.
.Mr Crawford stated that undoubtedly provision would have to be made for tin , increase in attendance which was likely to conic about in the near future. lie questioned whether it would he wise to apply straightout for a "-rant of .t: U..000 for a proper school building. Perhaps the proscnl would be a better time to make applica rioii for such a grant than later. Air Kishworth stated that other boards had had no difficulty in getting large grants for building purposes, then why should not we. Mr R. Thompson said that it would first be necessary to have plans, etc, prepared. He moved that the secretary be instructed to write to the boards who had had buildings erected recently asking for the loan of their plans. Mr Crawford seconded. Mr Cruickshank said that if the application were imade now a certain amount of the ground work would be done and the plans could come later. The resolution was carried.
