AGAINST INDENTURED LABOUR
Th e Auckland Ministers' Association recently met at the Pitt Street Methodist Church. The Rev. H. Knowles Kempton presided. Major Newby, of the Salvation Army, was elected a member. Owing to the president's immediate departure for Dunedin, -the Rev. R. Bailey was elected president of the association. It was resolved that, in view of the moral degradation resulting from indentured labour where it has been in vogue, namely, Fiji and South Africa, the meeting oppose the continuance of the system in Samoa, under the New Zealand mandatory.
