ADULT EDUCATION.

A matter of considerable importance which came before the District Council of the Otag-o Workers' Educational Association recently was the suggestion, emanating from the Wel-

centre, to form a National Council for New Zealand. After, deliberation, Otag-o decided to endorse the proposal, subject to approval of the working details of the scheme. •Subsequently there was received from Professor T. A. Hunter a copy of the proposed constitution of t.lie National Council. A number of alterations were suggested by Otago, these relating principally to the appointment of a Dominion organiser. Unanimity being essential, in view of a request to be made to Parliament for an enhanced subsidy, the Otago council sent forward their assent to a proposal to ask for funds for tutors , salaries in preference to the salary of a Dominion organiser.
