DALGETY AND COMPANY,
WESTFIELD STOCK SALES,
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their weekly sale of fat stock at Westfield yesterday. •
Beef: A moderate yarding, and prices were on a par with last week's rates. Extra choice pens of prime ox sold at up to £3 3/ per lOOlbs; ordinary prime ox, average of £2 19 /; cow and heifer beef, £2 15/ to £3.
Veal: A very large number yarded, the majority of which were young calves. Good heavy runners made up to £6 18/; good suckers, 30/ to 56/; young calves, 5/ to 11/.
Mutton: Fair yarding, but very few pens of prime sheep. The demand was keen for good sheep at late rates. Prim e heavy wethers made up to £2 19/; medium, ditto, 38/6 to 46/; light and unfinished, 30/6 to 37/9; prime ewes, to 44/6; ditto, 34/ to" 37/.
Pork: Moderate yarding. Prices wer e on a par with late, rates. Baconers sold at equal to 10d per lb; porkers made up to lid per lb.
