Miss A. G. Cooksey has been given the position of Deputy Registrar of Births, Deaths, and Marriages for the Paparoa district.
The appointment of Constable M. Power as an inspector of sea fishing, under the Fisheries Act, 1908, is announced in the current "Gazette."
Mr F Mander, M.P. for Marsden, Is in town until Friday, when he leaves for Auckland en route for the opening of the Parliamentary session on the 28th inst.
A London cable .message says that Captain Donaldson, who commanded the warship New Zealand when the armistice -was signed has taken over command of the Temeraire.
Mr Tau ■Henare, M.P., for the Northern Maori electorate, is at present in Whangarei on a visit to Mr and Mrs O. Woods. The genial member is still very weak from Ms serious illness but is steadily recovering.
'Mr G. Kilvington is officially notified in the "Gazette" as Registrar of Births, Deaths, and Marriages, and Vaccination Inspector, also Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris for the district of Kawakawa, as from the 24th ult.
