CAUTIOUS 'CHURCH USELESS.
As President of the National Free Church Council, Dr. A. T. Guttery called the churches to a life of adventure. The world, he holds, has no use for a cautious church, All faith is adventure, and the Christian faith more than all, but somehow "organised Christianity" seems to have "settled on its lees." Churches are content .to jog on in ancient ruts, to cling to ancient ways and traditions of the fathers, and to be disturbed and alarmed when the nations and the world go their way with hurrying steps along new paths of political evolution and social experiments ahead of the churches.
