CasselLs <md Constable Power, who have been in Auckland in connection with the S-ipreme Couri trials, returned to Whangarei th ; s morning. ■Mr T. K. Sidey, who has represented Dunedin South in Parliament for nearly 18 years, has decided not to eeek election at the general election. Mr P. Langston, of Taumarunui, who was for several years president of the Central Labour Party in Auckland, has been chosen by ballot, out of five nominees, as Labour candidate for the Waimarmo electorate. The following nominations have been received for two vacancies on the directorate of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company:—i Messrs E. M. Edkins, of Otorohanga, H. E. Worsp, of Auckland (retiring directors), and Mr Campbell Johnstone, of Whatawhata. The re-election of Mr Thomas Bassett as chairman of the directorate of the Northern Walroa Dairy Company (says the 'N.-A-. Tinaes") is a well deserved compliment and shows the implicit confidence the shareholders have in Ms business qualifications by electing him to that position seventeen years in siieeessio.i.
