N.A. FARMERS' CO-OP.
WHANGAREI AND KAMO SALES,
The N.A. Farmers' Co-op reports as follows: —
We held our usual monthly sales at Whangarei and Kamo on the 31st July and Ist August respectively.
At Whangarei the yarding was only moderate, and consisted chiefly of dairy cows and store cattle. Dairy cows from £9 10/- to £13/7/6; backward sorts, in poor condition, £6 10/----to £8 10/-. Bidding was very slow on store cattle, and only a few lots were disposed of, at prices in favour of the buyers.
There was also a small yarding at Kamo, comprised mainly of 8 pens of beef and a fair entry of dairy cows. Three pens of nice bullocks from Mr A. R. Crane realised from £19 15/- to £21; whilst 5 pens belonging to Mr Angus Finlayson fetched from £17 10/- to £20/2/6. Springers, in fair condition and close to profit, realised from £9 5/- to £13; backward sorts, £6 10/- to £9. Only a small number of store cattle were yarded and these were dull of sale.
There is likely to be a keener demand for store cattle in the near future.
