HELIGOLAND OWNERSHIP.
NOT ESSENTIAL TO BRITAIN. THE UTTERMOST FARTHING. (Received 11.20 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 4. Mr Churchill, speaking at Dundee, said the Admiralty had decided that it was unnecessary to demand Heligoland. The Government had decided on the nationalisation of railways. There were no limitations whatever to British naval freedom. We intended to make Germany pay the uttermost farthing for the harm done, in gold, shipping securities, and other available liquid assets.—A. and N.Z. and Reuter.
