At 4.30 p.m. a French communique says: "During the night the Germane made violent counter-attacks in the region of Urvillers, south of St. Quentin, all of which were smashed. There was no infantry fighting last night in the Champagne, where the battle was renewed at dawn today,"—A. and N.Z. and Reuter.
