CONSULATES IMPERILLED
V.M.C.A. WORKERS ARRESTED. (Received 11.25 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 27. M. Doschfleurot and Mr Poole hava arrived at New York from Moscow. They said that the American Consulate flew the Norwegian flag for protection against the Bolsheviks, but Lettish guards surrounded the building and permitted no food to enter the consulate. There is danger that the water supply may be cut off. The French Consul-General, M. Grenard, and the French Military Attache, General Lavengene, are among the besieged. Mr Poole was the only diplomat allowed to pass in or out of the American. Consulate.
The V.M.C.A. workers in Moscow were arrested, the Bolsheviks alleging that they were involved in counter revolutionary plots.—A. and N.Z.
