. (Received 8.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 20. Bapaume and Noyon have been captured.
General March states that the French advance near Nesle indicates a further opening of General Foch's pincers. The British gains to the northward are endangering the Hindenburg line, which is now penetrated one mile deep on a front of three miles. It is reported that Ginchy has been captured.—A. and N.Z. WELLINGTON, Aug. 30. The High Commissioner reports from London on the 28th August at 1.20 p.m.:—Sir Douglas Haig reports: ."Fineancourt, which was strongly held with machine-guns, was taken by us yesterday, also the greater part of Trones Wood. We have reached the outskirts of Sattcourt and Boiry Notre Dame." ■
At.4.40 p.m. on the 29th a French official report says: "We have occupied Chaulnes, Omiescourt, Balatre, Roiglise, and Verpiellers. We have penetrated the Crapeau Mesnil Wood and taken Dives."—High Commissioner Cable.
