KAMO v. UNITED
This match was played at Kamo and the home team had hard luck in not completing the surprise results of all the matches decided last Saturday. From the kick-off United attacked, but White relieved with a good line kick. Play was extremely willing and see-sawed from one end of the field to the other, hard collaring being a feature on both sides. United scored first by means of a neat dash on the part of Emson, but the kick failed. After the kiok out Kamo forwards forced the pace and M. Holmes broke away with the ball at his toe and dribbled over the line. Tautai followed up fast and scored, while Marwick converted. Half time came shortly afterwards with the score remaining Kamo 5, United 3. On resuming United came to the attack with a dash and Kamo was penalised for handling the ball in the scrum. Lamb's kick at goal was successful.—United 6, Kamo 5. Almost immediately afterwards United scored again as the result of a cross kick by Beehre. The kick again failed, leaving the score United 9, Kamo 5. Kamo kicked at and carried play to Uriited's 25, where an infringement gave Marwick the opportunity of making the scores United 9, Kamo 8. The score remained unaltered until just on the call of time, when Hunt scored after a nice dash. The kick was resultless and the whistle sounded with the total United , 12, Kamo 8. Mr S. Day controlled the game.
