The annual report was read as follows:—"Members will remember that at a meeting held in January of this year it was decided to form tho Swimming Club, and from its inception the club has reason to congratulate itself upon the support accorded it by the public generally.
"A sports meeting was held on March 1 last, which proved a decided success. The different items upon the programme were well contested and tho financial result of the gathering was very encouraging. The committee suggest that, this year, an effort should' be made to improve in various ways, the surroundings of the swimming pool, and they would like a start to be made on the formation by timbering and concreting a small bathing pool for small children in the vicinity of the ladies' dressing qhed. It has been suggested that the club should endeavour to purchase a fewacres upon the opposite side of the swimming pool, but although some members consider this a rather ambitious move there are others who think the scheme might be workable.
"Though in its infancy the club has justified its existence and the members confidently look forward to the support of the public in this, the healthiest form of recreation and exercise.
"You will be asked to confirm the rules of the club which have been approved by this committee.
"By resolution of the club subscription paid for the past season are extended to be available for the 1917-18 season.
