DEEP DIVING.

A NEW SUBMERSIBLE,

COUNTERACTING DEVICE-

Australian and N.Z. Cable Association

(Press Assn.—Reed. 10.5 p.m.)

NEW YORK, July 22,

The "New York Times' " Washington correspondent stntes that an official report has been received in Washington to the effect that Germany has completed a small number of submarines capable of submerging two hundred feet. This achievement adds to the submarine problem, as this type of submersible will be able to dive under the nets. It is believed that this is part of Germany's frantic endeavour to prevent the bottling of the U-boats in the Baltic and elsewhere.
