With a view to accelerating the output of merchant vessels the Clyde Shipbuilders' Federation " has " memorialised Mr Lloyd George urging the immediate and total prohibition of the sale of all alcholic liquor throughout the Kingdom, and that it be applied to all classes and individuals alike. The memorial added: "We are getting the Clyde and West Scotland shipbuilders and marine engineers to unanimously consider whether or not the nation should herequired to submit to these sacrifices, while the shipbuilders' and engineers" meeting is chiefly concerned with tho beneficial effect which the step rv'.h have on the output of merchant tonnage.
