PERSONAL.
Mr and Mrs Munlock Fraser, of Woodhill, purpose leaving to-morrow on a tour in Taranaki and southern districts. Latest advices are that Major C. Mackesy is now quite well and in England waiting orders to proceed to the front in France. Major Clark-Walker has received letters and cards from Sergt.-Major D. Fitegibbon, Company Sergeant-Major William Mallcudine, Driver D, Pallant (N.Z.F.A.), and the Major's son, Lieut. Clark-Walker, all of whom are at prel sent quite well.
Mr A. 11. Murray, who has been a settler in the Mangakahia district for the last 14 years, and has been made recipient of a handsome silver rosebowl by the residents, will leave in the course of a- few days for Rotorua.and the south, for reasons of health. The latest (revised) roll of honour shows that Private Frank Stables, of Kaipara, previously reported as missing is now listed as killed in action on September 27. Gunner C. F. Gane, of Northern Wairoa, is reported as being dangerously ill in hospital. Driver Percy Codlin, of Waipu, was killed in action; he was associated with the trench mortar battery. Lance-Cor-poral Arthur Roper, of Aponga, who was wounded, lias rejoined his unit, the 'New Zealand "Rifle Brigade. Privates Albert Ridings (Pakotai) and Teko (Kohnkohu) are reported as wounded, but not seriously.
