SUGGESTED REARRAGEMENTS.
A SMALLER WAR COUNCIL
(Press Assn. —Kecd. 5.5. p.m.) LONDON, December 4. The "Eveijiug Standard" says: The Bcute stage in the political crisis has passed. Mjr Lloyd George got subBtantially what he wants, including a Bmnll War Council with ample powers for a quick deeison at which Mr Asquith will have power to attend. The iiew Council will probably consist of Mr Lloyd George, Mr Bonar Law, Sir Edward Carson, and Mr Henderson. It is asserted that the Unionists urged Mr A'squith to resign but withdrew the request upon the receipt of a message from Ut Asquith. The "Standard" adds: "This Council is a fair, admirable working body. Sir Edward CarBon is a suitable colleague for Admiral Jellicoe in the Admiralty and Mr Bonar Law will go to the Treasury, and Mr Bfclfour, to the Colonial Office. Mr McKenna, who has gained Mr Asquith 's confidence in "dealing with colossal figures and in harmonising the Allies finances is nattirally dissatisfied Avith the proposed re-arrangement."
