General Sir Douglas Haig reports: There is considerable "artillerying" by the enemy of our front on both sides of the Ancre, but the retaliation is always prompt and effective. The enemy's trench mortars are active southward of Armentieres. Our aircraft attacked several places of military importance and caused large explosions.
