Employees of the Trade Union Parliamentary committees are negotiating for a general settlement of loner-stand-ing differences, including the Union's demand for compulsory unionism for f'll workers, -IS hours per week, .'iOs as a minimum wage for adults, no reduction in existing wages, no increase in existing hours, complete recognition of trade unions, unemployment pay from the State and tho settlement of afterwar conditions and women's labour. It is believed that the present is a favourable opportunity to remove the sources of friction and thus assist after-war resumption of normal industrial conditions. It is hoped a settlement will be reached for a triennium experiment. The negotiations are enlisting Government assistance. Mr Runciman's (President of the Hoard of Trade) reference yesterday to the miniiinum wage attracts increased attention.
