LONDON, October 12
Speaking in the House of Commons, Mr Richard Holt (Liberal member f0.- ,- ---the Hexham division of Northumberland) complained of the interview irivcn by Mr L'oyd Georgo to the United 'Press of America, anid the idea of fighting to a finish.
'Mr Lloyd George replied that there was no difference between Mr Asquith and himself. He recalled Mr Asquith's declaration that the military domination of Prussia must be wholly [>,nd finally destroyed. This was a complete answer to those trying to spread dissatisfaction by asserting that he spoke only for himself. The interview expressed the opinion of the Cabinet and its military advisers and every ally. Neutral interventu ;t would have been a military triumph for Germany, and a disaster for the Allies. As Secretary of State for War, he had a right to prevent such a disaster. The interview was timely—how timely would be revealed in due course.
