Messrs Alfred Buckiand and Sons ( report:-— , Yesterday, at our weekly Westfield fat stock nuuket, we said fat cattle to the number of 255 head, comprising ISO steers, 62 cows and heifers, and 13 bulls. The quality on the whole ( was first-class. There was a firm J demand throughout, last week's a:I- , vance being sustained. Choice ox i so!d at £2 10/, prime £2 7/ to .Cil 9/, ordinary and plain £i 16/ td £2 ■:,/; cows and heifers, £i IS/ to £2 6/; steers ranged in price from £ I." 17/0 tr> £29 10/. There was a large yarding of mutton, including nuhy yrime sheeip. Competition was steady, but generally values were slightly easier. K:::ra heavy prime woolly wethers, f - 6/ to £2 7/6; heavy prims wo; 1 ;;■■ wethers, £2 to £2 5/; medium to heavy woolly wethers, £1 17/ to £1 19/; light and unfinished woolly wethers, £i 13/ to £1 IG/i heavy prime shorn wethers, £1 9/6 to £1 13/; other shorn wethers, £I. 7/ to £i 9/; best heavy prime woolly ewes, £1 16/ to £2 1/6; other woolly ewes, £1 10/ to £1 14/9; extra heavy shorn ewes, £1 8/6 to £i 10/; best woolly hoggets £1 13/ to £1 16/; lighter £1 6/ to £1 11/. The 4:0 lambs were far below requirements, and prices ruled high- Best, £1 S/ to £1 11/; lighter, £1 3/ to £1 7/; small, IS/6 to £1 2/. Fat and youngcalves came, forward in average num. bers, and sold freely at late quotations. Runners made from £!7 to £11 12/6; heavy vealers, £5 to £6 17/6, medium £4 to £4 15/, lighter £3 to £3 io/, light £2 to £2 17/0, small and fresll--1 dropped 3/ to £1 15/. Pigs were ■ again penned short of requirements, and all clnsses fully maintained last i week's prices. No choppers were - yarded. Heavy baconers sold from ' £it 2/6 to £'.3, medium £3 10/ to £4, • light £3 3/ to £3 9/; large porkers \ £2 15/ to £3, smaller £2 9/ to £2 - 14/, small £2 to £2 8/; slips, £18/ > to £1 15/; weaners, 13/6 to £i 7/.
