LONDON, October 10

A French official report states: South of the Somme we attacked on a front of five kilometres, between ißerny-en-Santerre and Chaulnes. Our infantry carried the position and got past at a certain point near Bovent. The outskirts northward and westward of A'blaincourt and the greater part of Chaulnes Wood were conquered, the enemy sustaining considerable •losses, while 1250 prisoners were taken.
