NAVAL BATTLE IN THE BALTIC
The latest Russian blow has been struck in Volliynia and practically all the Austrian armies are demoralised, and are retreating' across the Carpathians. The people are panic stricken and are removing valu--ahles fronr Lemberg. The Germans are powerless to give help and they do not know where to expect tli c next blow.
On the West fighting continues vigorously, attack is developing.

A naval battle is reported in tli c Baltic, bift no details are available. It is believed, however, that the Russians have scored a success.
