Captain Perseus, the well-known German military critic, writing in the. ".Berliner Tageblatt," says that the German fleet on the open sea, in a battle without coastal support, dealt a conquering blow to the strongest fleet in the world.

The "Deutsche Tages Zekung" says that victory was obtained against superior numbers. It adds: "Our young navy has shown a tremendous superiority over the first and greatest fleet in the world."
