(Press Assn.—Reed. 8.15 p.m.)
NEW YORK, May 7,
Mr Chamberlain in a statement to the American press, says Germany's every endeavour to create trouble in the Indian population of 320,000 with a few malcontents has been a complete failure. The fantastic conspiracy of February 1915 was evidence of the stability of .British rule. The Viceroy reports the situation could hardly be mor c favourable.
Twenty-one regiments of Indian cavalry and 86 battalions of infantry are fighting abroad.
