KITCHENER'S NEW ARMY.

SPLENDID BODY OP MEN,

XO COLD FEET,

' . (Press Assn.—Reed. 10 p.m.) . ■'.'■■' LONDON, J ul y 19 - Mr Phillip Gilibs, writing in the ."Daily Chronicle" from the British headquarters quotes a sergeantmajor's opinion that Kitchener's army in France are a very cheerful lot of men. He had seen them when entering the recruiting offices and some had been over-trained. They had been working hard-for ten months and now you could not find a better regiment. "You'll find plenty of hotheads, but no cold feet," Mr Gibbs adds. The new army received its baptism by being led into the danger zone in easy stages and the regular officers say they have never seen soldiers of finer physique or stouter qualities.
