FURTHER PROGRESS IX* VIEW.

At a meeting of directors of the Xorthern Publishing Co., Ltd., 'held yesterday, there were present, Messrs W. Carter (chairman), D.- J. Finlayson and D. A. McLean. Mr A. M. MeLeod (architect) and the managingeditor were also in attendance. The principal business was the consideration of the plans for the projected new brick building. After fully considering the draft plans it was decided to invite tenders for a brick building covering over, four thousand square feet of floor space, suitably divided into the necessary departments. The architect was instructed to proceed with the work of completing the plans and specifications and to call' tenders.

Mr J. Annand-Smitli was appointed secretary to the Company to succeed Mr H. W. Briggs, who has accepted County Council and other responsibilities. ,

To-day (Tuesday) the managing-edi-tor went South to go into the matter of machinery which it will be necessary to i?istal in "the new premises in order to provide for the enlarged paper, which the Company intend to publish if warranted by the support of the district. Mr Annand-Smith. is in commercial charge of the office.
