COMMITTEE MEETING
A meeting of the committee of the Whangarel Union was- held on Saturday evea-H ing. Delegates from the Athletic,B College Oid Bays, Mangapai Rail*! way and Hikurangi clubs were pre-H sent. Mr N. Whisker occupied Ihefl chair. The secretary stated that allfl the clubs had been notified their registration forms must reaeJxß hi? office by Friday evening next. fl The local union is considering theY n«atter of insuring players, and with B that object has communicated with fl the Auckland Rugby Union. M An effort is being made to revive ■ the Public Schools competitions. A I letter was received from the Hiku- I rari'gi school on the matter, and the I committee decjded to do what it I could. Messrs Whisker, Greenwood 1 and Vaughnn were deputed to decide what was to be done. The matters of referees cud a selection committee were left in the hands of th chairman to report at the next meeting , . There will be a new entry in the competitions this year, that of the Mangapai Railway Club, which will obviate the necessity of byes. It was decided to leave- the matter of grading players until the next " meeting. The date for the opening matches of the season was fixed by the committee.
