BUTTER AND CHEESE EXPORTS.

SUBSTANTIAL INCREASES

TUB WHAKATAXE'S CARGO,

Yesterday evening the steamer Whakatane completed her loading at Auckland of 22,274 boxes of butter for export to London v and sailed this morning for her destination, via Wellington. Including the Whakatane's shipment, the expert of butter from the province this season reaches a total of 306,975 boxes, compared with 257,----903 boxes exported during the corresponding period of last season. The details of the export for the two seasons are shown as follows:— London (1914-15) 261,274 boxes, (1913-14)..-158,600 boxes; Vancouver, 37,828.and 94,644; West of England, 2150 and 569; South Africa, 3000 and 590; Islands, 2714 and 2400; San Francisco (1913-14) 1100: totals (1914-15) 306,975 .boxes, (1913-14) 257,903 .boxes. New Zealand butter on the London market is now quoted at from 140s to 144s per cwt. Taking 140s as the basis, the Whakatane's cargo is worth £72,997, f.o.b. Auckland. The approximate value of the season's output to date is £-959,293, f.o.b. at the port of Auckland.

The expo.rt of cheese shows a substantial .increase this season. The Whakatane is taking 1379 crates, which brings the total export fo.r the season to 11,330 crates, as compared with 5360 exported during the corresponding period of last season.
