Local orchardists greatly appreciate the few welpome .showers of rain which have fallen during' the past few d-ays, ailth'ough the high winds of yesterday had a drying tendency. As far. as can be gathered the prosfpects of the approaching fruit season is satisfactory in nitany cases, and there should be good' crops of peaches where growing has been carried on in a scientific way. Speaking to an "Advocate" representative, Mr F. Mander, M.P., expressed great satisfaction at the receptions which he has received at the different centres visited by him. Votes of. thanks and confidence have been recorded in nearly every instance. Mr Mander says that right, through, the electorate the settlers promise every support, and express approval of tha beneficent legislation- which the Reform Party has introduced during its term of office. Mr Mander addressed a good meeting at Mangapai-last night, and received a vote of thanks and confidence. M-r J. W. Bulley presided. Tonight Mir Mander will speak at Maungakaramea.
