REAL GRIT.

COLOMBO, November 26

The sailors wounded in the SyflneyEmden action are progressing favourably.

A story ol real grit and pluck on the part of Seaman Home is told by one of his comrades. "Home was the sightsetter of the six-inch starboard gun, and was crouched ready for the word of command behind the shield of the gun, when a shell burst just behind us, killed the gun-layer and injured four .out of the nine serving the gun.. Home got hit badly in both legs and the shoulder,, hut he crawled back to his seat behind the battered shield and stayed there till he was ordered below."
