PALMERSTON NORTH SPRING SHOW, 1914.
The committee of the' big North Island show has wisely announced its intention of carrying on the arrangements for holding the spring eA'ent at the usual time. The dates are 4th, sth and 6th November, and if the faith of members in the success of the allied armies is justified another great show may be antici-' pated. Preparations are proceedingjust as if. the country were at peace \vith all the world, though it may be possible that modifications will be necessary if the exigencies of the situation demand it. Hitherto the first day has been a comparatively slack one for the visitor, and the committee revised the ring programme, so that Wednesday, the 4th of November, will have quite as much to interest the ordinary spectator as either of the second or third days. It Avas hoped that a commencement Would have been made with the re-model-ling of the grounds, so as to give increased accommodation, but the project has been held up meantime. This, however, will not affect the show. It is hoped that every support Avill be given to the association, as it is understood that, owing to the heavy calls for patriotic purposes, the donation list will be greatly curtailed. Schedules may be obtained from the secretary, Mr W. T. Penny, Box 85, Palmerston North.
