INSOBRIETY AND BAD LANGUAGE.
JMo fewer than six cases of drunkenness and using_ obscene language were heard before Mr E. Page, S.M., this morning. Charles' Lend, who pleaded guilty t_ both charges was fined £1 or tw.o days' imprisonment for drunkenness and £3 or seven days for obscene language. : Henry Boyson, Lend's mate, who was arrested at the same time on similar and also pleaded guilty, was fined the same amounts. William McAdams, described by Sergt. Moore as being "fit for the. Island," and certainly a man who entertains a very dispassionate sort of regard for prohibition orders, pleaded hard for "one more chance" when charged with drunkeness and procuring liquor during the currency of an order. "Very well," replied his Worship; "I'll give you one more chance, but one only, remember. You'll be fined £5 and costs."
